Everyone shows their support for our veterans on special events such as Memorial Day.
However, many people don’t realize the daily struggle many of our veterans have when it comes to receiving adequate medical care for the injuries (both physical & emotional) which occur during their service to our great country.
Things are changing though, and Mr. Green Jeans is SUPER proud to be doing our part as a veteran-owned business!
There’s a special project going on in New Orleans called Project Legacy. It’s the new Veterans Medical Center in New Orleans (replacing the old VA hospital which was destroyed by Katrina), and it’s an exciting, “never before” type of project.
Project Legacy will be among the highest-performing VA medical centers in the entire country, and stands as one of the largest construction projects of any type in the history of New Orleans. The building itself covers 12 square blocks in the city and has more than 1.6 million square feet!
But while the facility itself is getting a lot of press, there are 4 quiet little shotgun houses right around the corner that you probably haven’t heard about.
These 4 little houses are now owned by the VA and are being totally renovated so that soldiers and their families have a place to stay during treatment. It’s a wonderful addition to help make soldiers & their families more comfortable during extended stays.
That’s where we come in!
Mr. Green Jeans is doing what we do best – installing fiberglass batt insulation in the attic, exterior walls, interior walls and installing closed cell foam on the sub-floor of all 4 houses.
Here are some pictures from the project:
At Mr. Green Jeans, we believe in working as a team to serve the soldiers & families who have served our country, whether that’s through special projects such as this, special discounts or opportunities to volunteer in our local communities. We hope you’ll do the same, and we couldn’t be more proud to be part of this wonderful project in New Orleans.
